Study Buddies

This semester, we have been lucky enough to (usually) have Shelton home two days a week. He still studies 10-12 hours, but he's home.  Which means we eat lunch together, and we find something wholly unproductive to do when he needs a five or ten minute break.  (He just got an iphone... who knew the games would be so addicting?)

I try to distract him as little as possible, but every now and again Mia will sneak into his office when I'm not looking.  I walked in a few days ago to find the two of them working on their physiques.

This...

...turned quickly into this...

...and then somehow evolved into this.

Anyone else need a study partner?

Twin Uncles

After spending some extra time with Shelton's twin brothers, I'm beginning to think that anyone who doesn't have twin uncles has missed out on something.  Mia adores Alex and Gavin.  It might have something to do with the fact that they listen intently to every word she says (including discourses on the merits of her baby "Rosie" and her recent successes on the princess potty).  Or perhaps it's because they will drop everything they are doing to literally fly her around the room.  Regardless, I am very glad that they came to visit.

Always Prepared

At her own request Mia is a "frincess" this year for Halloween.  As her costume is one of her favorite subjects, we discuss it often.  As we were driving today, she again outlined the many accessories she will need.

Mia: I am going to have my frincess wand, and my frincess necklace, and my frincess crown... it's going to be so great mom.  But, Mommy!  We almost for got someping! I need my toofbrush.

Me:  A toothbrush?

Mia: Yeah.  I'm going to eat soooooo much candy. I need my toofbrush for sure.

I'm glad she likes to be prepared.

(PS... remember how I thought I would be better at blogging?  I will not be so foolish to make such a promise again).
